About Spearfish Middle School
Spearfish Middle School (SMS) was built 26 years ago. It is attached to Spearfish High School and is close to Black Hills State University.
SMS has a strong middle school concept including PE/Health every day for every student, Project Lead the Way classes, Art, Spanish, Band, Choir, Literacy classes, and strong core subjects with accelerated math options in each grade level. They have many different clubs and school activities to engage a wide variety of students. Advisor/Advisee time with a FLEX period to serve enrichment and intervention needs.
